One man was killed and two others were wounded in a triple shooting in South L.A. late Wednesday, police said.

Authorities described the incident as drive-by shooting in the 500 block of West 94th Street in Vermont Vista, where a gunman eastbound on the street opened fire on three men outside a home just before midnight. The shooting was the second attack on a group of men in the area in less than a day.

One of the victims, who has not been identified, was sitting in a car when he was hit by gunfire and killed, said Lt. Clint Dohmen of the LAPD’s Southeast division. Two other men were wounded and rushed to a local hospital. Their condition was not immediately known.

The victims were identified as Aurelius Haywood, 40, of Los Angeles, and Corey Greene, 46, of Los Angeles.

Dohmen said it was unclear if the two men’s killings and the shooting on West 94th Street were related.

Police have seen recent violence in the area because of an “ongoing gang feud,†Dohmen said.

A motive for Wednesday’s two shootings was not immediately known.
