A series of assaults on female students at Cal State Northridge, including one on a woman who used a stun gun to escape, has prompted school officials to paper the campus with fliers seeking more information.

The latest incident occurred about 8 a.m. Saturday when a female student awoke in her dorm room to find a man standing over her and touching her bare leg. The man -- described as black, 6 feet tall, 180 pounds with short black hair -- took the woman’s wallet and some documents before running out of the room on the third floor of the University Park Apartments, CSUN police told KTLA-TV Channel 5.

On Oct. 2, a female student used a stun gun to escape after four men cornered her near the apartment complex’s mailroom at 10:40 p.m.

“The victim became frightened, pulled out a stun gun and stunned one of the suspects,†CSUN police said.

A composite sketch was released of the primary aggressor, who was described as a man in his early 20s, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, and having a dark complexion.

Just three days earlier, on Sept. 29, four men made sexual advances toward a female student about 1 a.m. in a parking lot between two buildings at University Park Apartments.

One of them men grabbed her arm, while another grabbed her hand, according to a campus crime alert issued by the department.

“No injuries resulted from the sexual advance,†CSUN police Capt. Scott Vanscoy told KTLA. “She walked away unharmed.â€

The group also offered her money, CSUN police said.

The incidents targeting women are the latest to hit the campus. In August, campus police were on alert after five women reported being groped near campus within two hours. The man engaged the women in conversation and in some cases asked for a hug. When the women protested, he groped their buttocks and ran away.
