Father due in court in alleged beating of 25-day-old daughter
An 18-year-old father was scheduled to be arraigned Friday on charges in connection with the alleged beating of his daughter when she was less than a month old.
Sean Michael Beard was arrested Wednesday, about a month after police said he and the baby’s mother first took the child to the hospital with bruising to her face, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said.
Doctors there recommended they take the 25-day-old baby to Loma Linda University Medical Center, where doctors discovered additional trauma allegedly caused by abuse, Sheriff’s Department officials said in a statement.
Beard, a Hesperia resident, was booked on suspicion of willful cruelty to a child. He was being held in lieu of $100,000 bail.
