Reader photo: Metro light
Admittedly, a number of us on the SoCal Moments team are infatuated with light. There’s something striking about pictures with a strong sense of chiaroscuro.
Photographer Aaron Guy Leroux‘s photo is an example of that. After a day in downtown Los Angeles, Leroux rode the escalator to the lower level of the Metro and noticed the afternoon light shining down the tunnel.
“Once at the bottom, I saw how beautiful the scene looked,†Leroux wrote in an email. “I took a knee in the middle of the station and started shooting the escalator.†Adjusting his settings and taking time to compose the image, he captured this photo of a man coming down the escalator.
Leroux took this photo using a Sony a7 with a Zeiss 35mm f2.8 lens.
