A rapper scheduled to perform at the Made in America festival was arrested Friday night and released early Saturday, authorities said.

Rapper Nipsey Hussle -- whose given name is Ermias Asghedom -- was arrested in Hyde Park at about 11 p.m. Friday night and booked at the Los Angeles Police Department’s 77th Street jail on a misdemeanor charge of obstructing a police officer, authorities said.

The 29-year-old was released at 6:58 a.m. Saturday, according to jail records. He is scheduled to appear in court Sept. 24.

The rapper took to Twitter about an hour later to assure his fans, “I will be at my show in Reno today and also #MadeInAmericaFestival on Sunday #themarathoncontinues.â€

A watch commander at the LAPD’s 77th Street station Saturday morning said he had no details on the circumstances of the arrest.

KNBC-TV reported that Asghedom was arrested while officers were conducting a probation complaint search at Slauson Avenue Clothing Store in the 3400 block of West Slauson Avenue. The man suspected of violating his probation was taken into custody along with Asghedom, the station reported.
