Pedestrian fatally struck on 110 Freeway in South Los Angeles
A 36-year-old Los Angeles man was fatally struck by a vehicle Sunday night on the 110 Freeway in South Los Angeles, authorities said.
Police and firefighters responded to a report of a pedestrian down in the roadway about 10:30 p.m., according to a statement by the California Highway Patrol.
The pedestrian, whose identity has not been released, was struck by a 2001 Chrysler in the southbound express lane just north of Century Boulevard, authorities said. The 21-year-old Los Angeles man driving the vehicle was not injured, and he was not arrested at the scene, according to the report. His identity also has not been released.
The cause of the collision is under investigation.
