Elderly woman dies in Pasadena house fire
Firefighters discovered the body of an elderly woman at the scene of a house fire in Pasadena early Friday, authorities said.
Firefighters responded to a call about a blaze in the 300 block of Redwood Drive about 8 a.m., said Lisa Derderian, a spokeswoman for the Pasadena Fire Department. The fire was “well evolved,†but firefighters were able to knock it down, she said.
When firefighters entered the home, they found the body of a woman, Derderian said. No one else was in the house at the time.
A neighbor rushed into the house to try and save the woman but was unsuccessful, Derderian said. The man suffered minor burns.
“Very unfortunate situation, especially the day after Thanksgiving,†Derderian said, noting that the fire caused significant damage to the house.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
