Man shot dead in South Los Angeles
A man was shot dead Wednesday night in the Westmont neighborhood in South Los Angeles.
The shooting was reported about 8:30 p.m. in the 10800 block of South Western Avenue, authorities said.
The victim was described only as an adult male. Homicide detectives were responding, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.
Since January 2007, at least 203 homicides have been reported within two miles of the slaying scene, according to a database by the Times Homicide Report.
