Rides at Legoland have been evacuated because of power outages related to the wildfires sweeping San Diego County, according to the theme park.

Park visitors posted photos on social media showing smoke coming from the hills in Carlsbad.

More than 11,500 evacuation notices were issued for the blaze, dubbed the Poinsettia fire, as it moved through neighborhoods marked by steep canyons filled with brush.

Homes in the Carlsbad area were in flames, but the exact number was not immediately clear.

It did not appear the theme park was immediately threatened by the flames.

Legoland sent out a tweet saying the park was “affected by several power outages today caused by fires nearby, all rides have been evacuated.”
