Detectives seek public’s help in Hawthorne stabbing death
Police are investigating the fatal stabbing of a man overnight in Hawthorne, officials said.
Police responding to the 12500 block of South Cranbrook Avenue shortly before 3 a.m. Saturday found the man lying on a stairwell, authorities said. He had been stabbed multiple times and was pronounced dead at the scene.
A motive is unknown and the county coroner is seeking to identify the victim, authorities said.
Los Angeles County sheriff’s homicide detectives are assisting Hawthorne police in the investigation. Anyone with information is being asked to call the sheriff’s homicide bureau at (323) 890-5500.
