Big rig overturns on northbound 710 Freeway and backs up traffic
A big rig overturned late Friday afternoon on the northbound 710 Freeway in Bell, prompting officials to close all but one lane and snarling traffic during the evening rush hour.
The overturned truck was reported just before 5 p.m. south of Atlantic Boulevard, according to Officer Michele Bond of the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officers responded to the scene by 5:20 p.m. and closed lanes two through five. A Sig Alert was issued about 5:26 p.m., with transit officials estimating the road would take at least 30 minutes to clear.
It’s unclear whether the driver of the overturned tractor trailer was injured.
