Authorities searching for motorist involved in fatal hit-and-run in Bellflower

Authorities are searching for a motorist who struck and killed a 30-year-old pedestrian Saturday night in Bellflower before fleeing the scene.
The victim, who has not been identified, was hit around 9:30 p.m. walking west on Lakewood Boulevard at Los Angeles Street, said Det. Christopher Bronowicki, of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. The motorist continued driving south, he said.
The woman who was hit was taken to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The suspect was driving a dark-colored Nissan with substantial damage to the front bumper and windshield, but no other details were available.
