Shooting and car crashes leave 2 dead, bicyclist critically injured in Baldwin Hills
Two people were killed and another was was critically injured Monday night as the result of a car-to-car shooting
Two people were killed and another was was critically injured Monday night in a car-to-car shooting in which the vehicles then struck a bicyclist and pedestrian, police said.
The shooting occurred around 8:30 p.m. near Farmdale Avenue and Rodeo Road in Baldwin Hills, according to Los Angeles Police Department spokesman Officer Rosario Herrera. A man opened fire from a silver car, striking an occupant of another vehicle , police said.
The shooting victim’s vehicle then struck a pedestrian, who was pronounced dead at the scene, Herrera said. While attempting to flee, the suspect’s vehicle slammed into a bicyclist at Farmdale and Exposition Boulevard, Herrera said. The cyclist remained in critical condition at a hospital Tuesday morning, Herrera said.
It was not clear what led up to the shooting, and Herrera could not offer a description of the suspect or the suspect’s vehicle. Police in the area responding to the sounds of gunfire Monday night found the fatally injured pedestrian.
Herrera did not know if the shooting victim was the driver of the vehicle that struck the pedestrian. The victims were only described as adult males, Herrera said.
