Three people injured when car plows into O.C. restaurant
An elderly woman lost control of her car and crashed into a Vietnamese restaurant in Garden Grove on Monday, injuring three people, authorities said.
The sedan plowed through Pho 86 restaurant just before 3 p.m., near the intersection of Magnolia Street and Garden Grove Boulevard, said Garden Grove Fire Department Battalion Chief Paul Whittaker.
The 73-year-old driver lost control of her car after she collided with another vehicle while turning westbound on Garden Grove Boulevard, according to a spokesman for the Garden Grove Police Department.
Two restaurant patrons -- a woman, 37, and a 10-year-old girl -- were taken to a nearby hospital where they are being treated for moderate injuries, according to the police.
The driver was taken to Garden Grove Medical Center and released.
Two men inside the vehicle first struck by the driver were not injured.
The crash forced the closure of a store adjacent to the restaurant as well as Pho 86 itself, Whittaker said.
