Seven injured when car hits Mexican restaurant in Northern California
Seven people were injured, two seriously, Thursday evening after a car plowed into the front of a Mexican restaurant in Northern California, police said.
It appears as though a 56-year-old woman who was pulling into the parking lot of Taqueria Los Pericos in Dublin about 6:15 p.m. accidentally accelerated the vehicle and smashed into the restaurant, Lt. Nate Schmidt told the Contra Costa Times.
Six customers were hurt and taken to hospitals. The driver was also injured.
“We’re really fortunate that there weren’t more traumatic injuries,†Schmidt said.
Schmidt said the preliminary investigation shows the crash was caused by driver error and alcohol was not believed to have been a factor.
