5-year-old boy found on South L.A. street; police seek parents
Law enforcement authorities on Monday evening were looking for the parents of a 5-year-old boy who was found wandering the streets of South Los Angeles.
The child was found about 6 a.m. near 73rd Street and Avalon Boulevard, the Los Angeles Police Department said.
Police said the boy told workers with the county Department of Children and Family Services that his mother got on a bus and left.
The boy was found by residents who heard him crying, neighbors told NBC-TV channel 4. They said he had a towel draped over his shoulders.
The boy may go by Anthony or Antonio and is about 4 feet tall and weighs about 60 pounds, LAPD officials said.
He was wearing a black “Angry Birds†T-shirt, blue jeans and dark tennis shoes.
Anyone with information is asked to call the LAPD’s 77th Street Station at (213) 485-9603.
