Earthquake: 3.6 quake strikes near Imperial
A shallow magnitude 3.6 earthquake was reported Thursday morning one mile from Imperial, Calif., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 11:14 a.m. PDT at a depth of 8.7 miles.
According to the USGS, the epicenter was three miles from El Centro, 10 miles from Brawley, and 11 miles from Calexico.
In the last 10 days, there have been no earthquakes of magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
