Laurent Binet: A review in the June 24 Arts & Books section of Laurent Binet’s novel “HHhH” referred to the author as “a history teacher who had previously published a memoir.” In fact, he has taught French and literature.
Jackson Pollock: An article in the June 26 Calendar section about artist Jackson Pollock’s 1943 painting “Mural” said that the work was currently on view at the Figge Art Museum in Davenport, Iowa. It is on display at the Des Moines Art Center through July 15.
Summer concert season: An article on the summer concert season in the June 26 Calendar section said that a $150,000 grant from the Annenberg Foundation funded 16 in-house J.A.M. sessions at the Ford Amphitheatre and 40 sessions outside the Ford. The grant funds only the 40 shows outside the Ford.
Olympics security: An article in the June 25 Section A about security for the upcoming London Summer Olympics identified Col. Jon Campbell as a Royal Air Force officer. Campbell is with the army and joint Ground Based Air Defense.
Ann Meyers Drysdale: In the June 25 Sports section, an article about former basketball star Ann Meyers Drysdale gave the title of her memoir as “You Let a Girl Beat You?” The book is “You Let Some Girl Beat You?”
Track and field: In the June 26 Sports section, a photo caption with an article about the U.S. Olympic track and field trials said that the London Games would be the first Olympics for 800-meter winner Nicholas Symmonds. He was also on the U.S. team at the Beijing Games in 2008.
