Iraq war veteran: In the June 11 Section A, an article about a high school class that launched a drive to build a home for a disabled Iraq war veteran referred incompletely to the role played by others in the project. In addition to staging a benefit concert, the Gary Sinise Foundation managed the project along with the students. By the project’s conclusion, the majority of funds to build the two houses had been raised by the Sinise foundation with the support of multiple donors and partners, including the Carrington Development Co., the Independence Fund and Disabled American Veterans.
Airport expansion: In the June 20 Business section, a Travel Briefcase item about public sentiment toward the Transportation Security Administration said that Bob Hope Airport in Burbank expanded its terminal by 4,300 square feet to accommodate security scanners after the Sept. 1, 2001, terrorist attacks. In fact, the airport expanded the terminal by 43,000 square feet.
Danny Villanueva: In the June 21 California section, the obituary of Spanish-language media mogul Danny Villanueva said that he graduated from the University of New Mexico. He graduated from New Mexico State University.
Marilyn Monroe: In the June 14 Calendar section, a Classic Hollywood article about the Hollywood Museum’s Marilyn Monroe exhibit misstated the date of the actress’ death. She died Aug. 5, 1962, not Aug. 6.
Talk-show hosts: In the June 23 edition of The Envelope, an article about late-night hosts Conan O’Brien and James Corden misspelled the last name of former “Tonight Show” host Jack Paar as Parr.
