Willie Cabrera led off the bottom of the first inning with a home run and Matt Dominguez, who had two hits, added a home run in the sixth inning for No. 4 Chatsworth (8-0). Kyle Redding had two-out, run-scoring double in the third inning for Chaminade (4-3-1).

Alex Contratto (1-0) struck out five and allowed four hits in 5 1/3 innings for host Chadwick (2-4). Teammate Daniel Kohl hit a clutch three-run double with two outs in the fourth. Maranatha falls to 4-2.

In the first game, Craig Vasquez went three for three with six RBIs, including a double and a grand slam, Chad Gross went two for two with five RBIs and a double and a home run and Johnathan White went two for four with one RBI to lift host Claremont. In the second game, Kenny Gordon went three for three with three RBIs and two doubles, Todd Wells went three for four with one RBI and one double and Mark Tracy went three for three with one RBI for host Claremont (7-0).

Senior catcher Matt Dunne went two for four, including a grand slam and five RBIs for visiting Corona Centennial (6-1, 1-0) in the first game. Bill Coddington had three hits in each game and had a double, two RBIs and scored twice in the second game for Murietta Valley.

In the first game, senior Mario Nevarez pitched a five-hitter with nine strikeouts and one earned run and sophomore Darby Myers went two for two with three RBIs and a stolen base to lead host Culver City. In the second game, Jeremey Burrell pitched five innings, striking out six, and gave up one walk and one earned run and Chris Johnson got the save, throwing two innings with one strikeout for host Culver City (6-1-1). Darby Myers went two for two, with one run scored, one RBI, one stolen base and one walk for Culver City.

Diamond Bar 6-9, Loara 2-1
Diamond Bar improves to 4-4. Loara is 2-6.

In the first game, Tony Perez went two for four with a single and a double for host Brea Olinda. In the second game, Chauncey Fonner went two for three with a double and hit his third home run of the year for Brea Olinda (3-5). Fountain Valley improves to 4-4.

In the first game, Brandon Parillo (2-0) threw a two-hitter with seven strikeouts and no walks to lead visiting top-ranked Marina. Matt Candlish tossed a three-hitter with three strikeouts and five walks for the Vikings (7-1). Moorpark is 7-2.

In the first game, Adam McNaught pitched a complete game, allowing only one unearned run, for host Mayfair (6-3). On the day, Daniel Prieto went three for six with six RBIs, a double and had a three-run home run in the second game. Burbank Burroughs is 2-5-1.

Rich Owens (2-1) threw a one-hitter with nine strikeouts and Jessie Veenendaal went three for four with three runs scored and an RBI for Ontario Christian (4-3) in the first game. John Totten (2-0) struck out six and allowed four hits and Phil Belko went three for three with three stolen bases and two runs scored for Ontario Christian in the second game.

Lauren Green had a two-run home run and Paul Eschardies had a three-run home run in the first game for host Pacific Hills (5-3). Teammate Troy Jones had a two-run home run in the second game.

Addison Hesslink (1-1) struck out five and allowed two hits in 5 2/3 innings to earn the win for Palm Desert (6-1) in the first game. Teammate Kevin Macdonald hit a two-run home run and Ernie Cho was two for three with an RBI in the first game. Nick Cooper was two for three with a home run and an RBI single for Palm Desert in the second game. Burroughs (3-2) had 13 singles in the second game.

Palos Verdes 6, Bishop Montgomery 5 (8 innings)
Freshman Bryce Ortega went four for five with three RBIs, including the game-winner to drive a runner from second base, to lead host Palos Verdes (3-4). Freshman left-hander Matt Grace pitched the final 2 1/3 innings of scoreless relief for Palos Verdes. Nathan Peranelli went two for four with a three-run double for Bishop Montgomery (5-3).

San Bernardino 4-8, Coachella Valley 3-6
Freshman pitcher Marcos Rivera got his first high school win, giving up four hits and striking out six for San Bernardino (6-5) in the first game. Teammate and cousin Greg Torres went three for four and had a game-winning bases-loaded RBI single in the bottom of the seventh in the same game. Senior Mario Rivera pitched four innings of relief with seven strikeouts and earned the win with a two-run home run in the bottom of the sixth in the second game. David Saucedo went three for four with two runs and two RBIs and Jeff Bowden went two for three with a double and two runs for San Bernardino in the second game. Coachella Valley is 1-3.

St. Francis 3-7, Oak Park 2-3
In the first game, senior Alex Gonzalez pinched hit a two-out home run in the seventh inning and junior Andy Marquardt (2-0) threw a four-hitter with eight strikeouts for visiting St. Francis. In the second game, freshman Andrew Sember pitched three innings of scoreless relief to grab his first varsity win and Andy Marquardt went three for four with two RBIs to lead St. Francis (6-1). Oak Park is 2-4-1.

Vasquez 5, Rosamond 2
China McCarney (4-0) allowed no earned runs and three hits with eight strikeouts in six innings and Jeremy Scarbury had a run-scoring double for Vasquez (6-2) at JetHawks Stadium in Lancaster. Rosamond is 2-3.

Victor Valley 5-7, Serrano 4-11
In the second game, Eric Schaefer went two for three with three RBIs and scored one run to lead visiting Serrano (5-3).

Jamie Cipriano threw a two-hitter in the nightcap as the Chargers (6-3) earned a split with Clovis (9-2), the top-ranked team in the CIF Central Section.

Senior shortstop Isaac Simmons went four for six with two home runs, two doubles, seven RBIs and seven runs scored for Cabrillo (4-4). Simmons also drew four walks. Mission Prep is 0-4.

Westminster La Quinta 15-13, Portland (Ore.) Wilson 6-3
Brandon Laird hit two home runs, including a three-run homer in the first game, and went seven for eight with six runs scored and seven RBIs on the day for No. 13 La Quinta (8-0-1).

Freshman Brent Bray had the game-winning RBI single in the top of the 10th inning for visiting Beaumont (3-1). Freshman Joe Salazar, who was four for five with two doubles, pitched the last inning to get the win for the Cougars. Tournament MVP Bobby Pepper of Beaumont led off the game with a inside-the-park home run. Loma Linda Academy is 3-4.

Billy Swanson (2-0) pitched a no-hitter and struck out six for host Oxford Academy (6-0, 3-0) and went two for four with two RBIs. Rob Renn went two for three with two RBIs and Christian Florido went two for four with two RBIs for the Patriots. Capistrano Valley Christian is 4-2, 2-1.

Jeremy Bamsey struck out five to get the win and hit a grand slam in the fifth inning for visiting Moreno Valley (6-3, 1-0). Ryan Selden had three hits, including a home run and double, and Joe Spiers had two hits to extend hitting streak to 40 games for Canyon Springs (6-2, 0-1). Spiers is within Jason Kendall’s state record 43-game hitting streak for Torrance between 1990-92.

Michael Gilmartin went two for three with a double and pitched a complete game to improve his record to 3-0 for host Crespi (7-0, 2-0), ranked No. 3 by The Times. Tony Fiala and Ollie Linton each went two for four for the Celts. Sherman Oaks Notre Dame is 4-3, 0-2.

In the first game of the doubleheader, Patrick O’Hail drove in the game-winning run on a pinch hit and D.J.
