Los Angeles Times Reports March Circulation
LOS ANGELES, May 3, 2004 – The Los Angeles Times showed an increase in average daily circulation for the period ended March 31, 2004, according to figures filed with the Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC). For Monday-Saturday, average daily circulation was 983,727, an increase of 4,178, or 0.4 percent, compared with the prior year.
Sunday circulation was 1,392,672, a decline of 3,372, or 0.2 percent, compared with the prior year. The nearly five-month-long supermarket strike in Los Angeles negatively affected Sunday sales.
The Los Angeles Times, a Tribune Publishing company, is the largest metropolitan daily newspaper in the country and the winner of 35 Pulitzer Prizes, including five this year – the second-largest yearly total in the history of the awards.
