Sept. 30 California Recall Debate Canceled
The Sept. 30 debate announced by the Los Angeles Times and CNN has been canceled. We invited Gov. Gray Davis and the three leading candidates who achieved the support of at least 10 percent of the voters in Los Angeles Times or Field polls. Lt. Gov. Cruz Bustamante and Sen. Tom McClintock accepted the invitation. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Gov. Gray Davis declined.
In light of the fact that we believe that California voters are best served by presenting the views of Gov. Davis and the top candidates, we have canceled the debate.
The Los Angeles Times and CNN will continue to aggressively cover the recall election.
