The historic members-only Griffin Club in Cheviot Hills will open its doors to the public for a couple of days in March to host a wellness event where you can try out boxing and stationary cycling, B-12 shots, and join talks on resilience and mental health.

Put together by Local Mercato, a Los Angeles company that organizes fashion and wellness events, the Wellness Weekend is designed to remind people of their fitness and diet aspirations.

“Soon after the new year, people are reevaluating and refreshing their goals,†said Local Mercato co-founder Janie Schwartz. “We wanted to bring them easily digestible information from people who are trusted in their fields.â€

Both mornings start with coffee, juices, smoothies and meditation on the lawn of the club. After, participants move into the gym area, where can take their pick of popular workouts. Options include Plate Fit — high-intensity interval training on individual power plates — boxing from BoxUnion, or spin and yoga with a DJ. The club’s spa/sauna area can be accessed for a quick pick-me-up or treatments including massages using cannabis-infused oils, facials or bodywork. And, of course, there will be a pop-up marketplace featuring wellness products.

Afternoon sessions are designed to feed the intellect; psychologist Zelana Montminy will share perspectives from her book “The Power of Resilience,†and a panel entitled “Sex, Sleep and Mood†will feature speakers including family medicine specialist Cynthia Watson and psychiatrist Sarah Oreck.

“There is so much information out there that this is an opportunity to hear from credible and reputable experts about what’s a fad, or what is worth exploring,†Schwartz said. “We want to bring to people the best of what L.A. has to offer.â€
