Farmshop’s Jewish holiday menu: For the coming Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur holidays, chef Joshua Drew of Farmshop has created a menu including chopped jidori chicken liver mousse; chicken soup; savory noodle kugel; couscous (made with pomegranate and orange blossom water); tzimmes (traditional stew); prime beef brisket; roast jidori chicken; sautéed spinach; braided challah; fig and honey cake; and apple strudel. 225 26th St., Suite 25, Santa Monica, (310) 556-2400, www.farmshopla.com.

Italian American street food at Dominick’s and Little Dom’s: In celebration of the Feast of San Gennaro, Dominick’s and Little Dom’s will offer an Italian American-street-food-inspired dinner menu including stigoli (grilled steak topped with smoked mozzarella); sausage and pepper sandwich; porchetta sandwich; barbecue balsamic vinegar short ribs; sausage and cavolo nero focaccia; crab fritters; rice ball; zeppole; and gelato. Jimmy Kimmel’s Italian street festival: The San Gennaro Foundation kicks off October’s Italian Heritage Month with its annual weekend street festival. Hosted by co-founder Jimmy Kimmel and Adam Carolla, the event opens with a procession of St. Gennaro on Hollywood Boulevard and concludes with a Mass presided by Msgr. Antonio Cacciapuoti, and features food, music, carnival rides, games and various special events to benefit charities. Oktoberfest at Wirtshaus: Oktoberfest kicks off at the German restaurant and bar on Sept. 22 at 3 p.m. A surprise German celebrity guest will tap the ceremonial Oktoberfest keg, and guests who are seated and purchase an entrée will be able to drink for free until that first keg runs dry. The four-week celebration will see regularly changing food and drink specials, and live traditional German music on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Wirtshaus will also offer Oktoberfest-themed off-site catering packages for parties of six or more, as well as the option to have a properly outfitted server on-site to serve guests.
