Friday is the first in a series of pop-up dinners happening at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. The series is called Red and draws its inspiration from the ongoing Stanley Kubrick exhibition and film retrospective. There will be two weekends to enjoy a three-course dinner followed by a Kubrick flick.

Each dinner will feature cuisine inspired from one of Kubrick’s films. The upcoming event on Friday will include a classic Roman feast in tribute to the night’s feature film “Spartacus.†On the menu will be crispy artichokes, fig-stuffed pork loin with braised pork cheek and a pear tart. Other film showings include “Lolita†on Saturday with chicken liver mousse, chicken breast stuffed with chestnut and cranberry, and an apple crumble on the menu; “Dr. Strangelove†on Nov. 30; and “A Space Odyssey†on Dec. 1.

Tickets to LACMA’s dinner and a movie are $60 per person. For reservations, call (323) 377-2698 or email [email protected].
