Twitter #Weekendeats highlights: Holiday cheer
- Share via
It’s Christmas Eve, and home cooks everywhere are busily prepping for their holiday meals. During Monday morning’s #Weekendeats chat on Twitter, participants shared recipes and photos of what they’re making for the big day. Here are the highlights:
Awards for most festive, best-looking cakes would have to go to none other than Brooks Walker from the blog CakeWalker who shared an impressive, beautifully decorated Meyer lemon snowflake cake with white chocolate ganache and Deborah Reid who shared a picture of her Johnny Cash family coconut cake all the way from Toronto.
And what would the holidays be without cookies? Stephanie Arsenault from the blog Global Dish shared a recipe for cute Speculoos button cookies, Angela Matta shared a picture of her festive thumbprint cookies dusted with powdered sugar snow, and for a little spice, the blog Banana Wonder shared a kicked up recipe for vegan coconut butter cookies with ghost pepper sea salt.
We also recently wrapped up our holiday cookie bake-off. You can check out the 10 winning bakers and their recipes here.
Please join in by tweeting your #Weekendeats at us Monday morning @latimesfood and share your photos with us in our “Weekend eats” gallery. We’ll feature some of the photos here on Daily Dish, so be sure to check back for more #Weekendeats and #Foodporn throughout the week.
Hope to see everyone next Monday morning on Twitter! It’s sure to be a drool-worthy good time.
