Use Uber to order ice cream on Friday
If you’re sitting at your desk wishing you could be eating an ice cream cone, all you have to do is grab your smartphone. Uber, the dial-a-ride app, is offering ice cream delivery on Friday.
From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., users can order ice cream treats from All American Softy soft-serve catering service and B Sweet, a catering company with dessert trucks. For $25 you can get five unspecified ice cream treats and some custom Uber swag, according to the Uber blog.
The ice cream will be delivered via an ice cream truck or an uberX car. The company also partnered with six Los Angeles-based street artists to deck out some of the trucks with custom art. For a chance to win one of the canvases, you can follow @Uber_LA for contest tweets.
To order the ice cream, open the Uber app and choose the ice cream option. If a car is available, Uber says you’ll receive your ice cream in minutes.
And don’t worry about running to the ATM. The ice cream will be billed to your regular Uber account.
Uber plans to deliver ice cream to 144 cities in 38 countries.
