If you woke up Tuesday craving a big plate of Belgian waffles and an ice cold Chimay, you may have to look a little harder to find someone to serve you. And some soccer fans may even call you a traitor.

The U.S. takes on Belgium today at 1 p.m. PDT in their World Cup match, and in support of our national men’s team, some restaurants and bars have decided to discourage Belgian waffles and beer.

“In support for USA we are banning Belgium Waffles and Belgium beer during the match tomorrow,†writes Barney’s Beanery on its Facebook page and in an announcement on Twitter. “For club and country!â€

But Samuel Adams beer founder Jim Koch doesn’t think boycotting beer is the way to support the U.S.

“We hear some people are boycotting their favorite Belgian beers (like Stella) in support of Team USA,†Koch told TMZ Sports. “I can’t say I agree with beer boycotts because then you’re giving up your right to drink your favorite beer!â€

Waffle House, a waffle chain found primarily in the South, also declared a boycott on Belgian waffles. And wouldn’t you know -- Waffle House serves those American-style waffles. The company posted a photo of a plate of American waffles, with an American flag, sitting on top of a pile of Belgian waffles on its Facebook page.

And if you really need to get your Belgian waffle and beer fix today, we won’t hold it against you. Just make sure you get the U.S. chant right.

I believe that we will win!
