Tickets for this year’s Bite Nite, the party celebrating the publication of Jonathan Gold’s guide to the 101 best restaurants in Southern California, will go on sale at 10 a.m. today.

And what a party it will be. Participating restaurants include Alma, named the best new restaurant in the country this year; sushi purist Shunji; Sichuan hot spot Chengdu Taste; the Kogi truck; Oaxacan mainstay Guelaguetza; Nancy Silverton’s Mozza; and Spago.

After the overwhelming popularity of last year’s Bite Nite -- it sold out almost immediately -- this year’s version has been extended to two nights, May 19 and 20. More than 20 restaurants will be featured each night and some of Southern California’s best and best-known chefs will be serving their food. Tickets are $125 and are limited only to Times members.

In Jonathan Gold’s 101, which will be published May 18, the only restaurant critic ever to win a Pulitzer Prize will rank his favorite Southern California eateries, in order, with capsule reviews and color photographs.

A special online edition will include interactive maps, sortable lists so you can remember which places you’ve tried and which are still on your wish list, and a series of video features on dining in Los Angeles.

The printed guide will be a glossy digest-size, perfect for sticking in your glove compartment so you’ll never be stumped for somewhere to eat.
