Al Gore is now vegan, just like Bill Clinton

If you read a recent Forbes article on Hampton Creek Foods, makers of the purely plant-based egg mayonnaise sold at Whole Foods, you may have noticed a single sentence referencing former Vice President Al Gore. According to Forbes, Gore is “circling” the company with interest, and he happens to be a newly converted vegan.
The Washington post later confirmed Gore’s new vegan status with a confidential source. He made the switch to a diet free of all animal products a few months ago.
Gore follows in the footsteps of former President Clinton, who embraced a vegan diet a few years ago after undergoing quadruple-bypass heart surgery.
“I essentially concluded that I had played Russian roulette,” Clinton had told CNN.
Before the official diet switch, Gore had made commitments publicly to cut down on meat consumption due to its effect on global warming. Gore shared the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize for his work on shining a public spotlight on the hazards of climate change.
Not surprised the former VP made the switch? Let us know in the comments below.
