$1.31 ice cream scoops at Baskin-Robbins
Angelenos with their air conditioners on full blast this summer can agree, we all scream for ice cream. And if you’re jonesing for a scoop Thursday, Baskin-Robbins wants to give you a scoop of any one of its signature 31 flavors for $1.31.
As part of the ice cream chain’s Celebrate 31 campaign, Baskin-Robbins is offering 4-ounce scoops of ice cream for $1.31 on the 31st of every month, for the rest of the year. You can order your scoop in a cup, or sugar or cake cone.
That means $1.31 scoops Aug. 31, Oct. 31 and Dec. 31. If you’re wondering what happened to the other two months, there are only 30 days in September and November.
Since it’s supposed to be in the mid 80s Thursday, maybe a scoop of the new State Fair Fried Dough Cinnamon flavor with caramel ice cream, funnel cake pieces and a fried dough-flavored ribbon. Next month when it’s still sweltering, there’s the Tropical Vacation Frozen Yogurt with pineapple and passion fruit yogurt and a passion fruit ribbon.
The promotion is valid at all Los Angeles area and Phoenix locations.
The Baskin-Robbins company was started in Glendale in 1945 by two ice cream enthusiasts, Burton “Burt†Baskin and Irvine “Irv†Robbins. Both Baskin and Robbins opened separate shops initially, but in 1953, the two decided to call their shops Baskin-Robbins. The brand has grown to include 7,300 locations worldwide.
And if you’re still on a soccer kick from the recent World Cup, Baskin-Robbins also happens to be the offical ice cream of the Liverpool football club in the UK. Go reds!
