SUMMER KICKS, HANDMADE AND COLORFUL

South Willard, the influential menswear boutique, has teamed with Quoddy Trail Moccasin Co. to introduce Quoddy for South Willard, a line of bluchers, boots and boat shoes in custom-colored leathers and soles. Quoddy Trail, a family-owned company based in Maine, still makes shoes by hand in the U.S., using leathers from domestic suppliers.

The new line, perfect for warmer-weather dressing, offers a dressier alternative to canvas sneakers, with shoes that easily pair with short pants, jeans and khakis. In store now and online, Quoddy for South Willard features black and navy leather and brown suede bluchers with white stitching ($218). (The first shipment of the brown suede shoes, says South Willard owner Ryan Conder, sold out on its first day.)

For summer, the shop will stock boat shoes in primary yellow leather and blue suede with military-style eyelets and white soles ($224). Kevin Shorey, Quoddy Trail’s vice president of product, says his moccasins are a good investment in these penny-pinching times. “Don’t ever throw them away,†he says. “We’ll resole them for $10.â€
