A new website is putting kids’ creative power to use to help raise money for charity.

VeryMeri asks children to design and submit artwork via online contests. The winning designs, voted on by the public, are featured on T-shirts, hoodies and accessories, are sold on verimeri.com for $18 to $39. Five percent of the sales price is donated to the young designer’s charity of choice or to VeryMeri’s national charitable partner, the Art of Elysium.

The Los Angeles-based site was the brainchild of teacher Meri Zeiff and is intended to encourage entrepreneurship and social responsibility in kids.

The site currently features nine T-shirt designs, two hoodies, two iPad sleeves and three watch styles. Items are designed for kids ages 3 years to tween.
