Getty’s celebrity chef signing and lunch: Ann Willan, author of “The Cookbook Library: Four Centuries of the Cooks, Writers, and Recipes that Made the Modern Cookbook†and founder of Ecole de Cuisine La Varenne in Paris, is signing books Wednesday. Celebrating Gustav Klimt: In honor of Viennese modernist Gustav Klimt’s 150th birthday this past summer, the Getty Center is exhibiting Gustav Klimt: The Magic of Line, a collection of the artist’s drawings. Guests can also enjoy a special menu of Niman Ranch pork schnitzel with Yukon Gold whipped potatoes, escarole, Parmesan, arugula and rosemary honey mustard, and an Austrian beer tasting flight. Nic’s Beverly Hills’ cocktail hour: Best known for its Vodbox, a glass-walled, 28-degree bar, Nic’s Beverly Hills is now hosting a cocktail hour sponsored by L.A. Wine Tasting. Each ticket includes one glass of wine, appetizers and two complimentary rides to and from the lounge provided by Uber. BierBeisl’s fall menu and picnic basket: Chef Bernhard Mairinger is reopening BierBeisl with a new fall menu plus Oktoberfest treats starting Sept. 22. The selection includes veal, pork or turkey schnitzel, schweinshaze (braised and roasted pork shank), knoedel (dumplings) and sauerkraut, a traditional Weisswurst breakfast served from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and a special five-course sausage and beer pairing menu. BierBeisl is also offering $70 picnic baskets for two for the Hollywood Bowl’s “Sound of Music†singalong that includes Austrian charcuterie (speck, tiroler, cabanossi, landjaeger, pate), schnitzel (pork, turkey or veal for additional $5) with potato salad, Austrian pastry, two beers and one Austrian soft drink or one bottle of wine and one soft drink, and one Zotter bar.
