Free rides this weekend on Irvine Spectrum’s Ferris wheel
Irvine Spectrum Center’s 108-foot-tall, Italian-made Ferris wheel is celebrating a new look with free rides Friday through Sunday, this weekend only.
The wheel’s 12,500 standard lightbulbs have been replaced with more than 52,000 energy-efficient LED lights capable of 16 million color schemes.
Irvine Spectrum is at 670 Spectrum Center Drive, Irvine.
Sample sales
Chic Little Devil’s summer sample sale featuring up to 90% off retail on designer dresses, swimwear, coverups, sandals, sneakers, jewelry and accessories is scheduled to start Thursday. Just a few of the deals organizers are promoting: Alexander McQueen heels, $60, and scarves, $90; Giuseppe Zanotti and Balmain shoes and accessories, $80; Lanvin heels, $80; Fully beaded couture lamb skin weekender bags, originally $1,200, $40 and up; chain mail Diabless halter dress and tops, originally $900, $75. The sale is will be on from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday through Sunday at the Chic Little Devil Style House, 1206 Maple Ave., Los Angeles.
Building Block plans to host a sample sale this weekend including merchandise from Building Block, Rowena Sartin, Welcome Companions and Waka Waka. Hours are noon to 7 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. Building Block is at 1727 N. Spring St., 3rd floor, Los Angeles.
Sanctuary’s blowout summer sale is set for 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saurday at 3611 N. San Fernando Blvd., Burbank. Prices start at $19; 10% surcharge for credit or debit cards. No strollers, food or men allowed.
Michael Stars is offering 75% off Michael Stars merchandise (including menswear for the first time) and 60% off Hudson jeans in a summer sample sale this week. A trunk show featuring the Hayley Paige fall 2015 bridal collection is scheduled this weekend at Blush Bridal Couture, 13011 Newport Ave., Tustin.
