Gwyneth Paltrow’s stylist defends sheer ‘Iron Man’ premiere gown
The gown that Gwyneth Paltrow wore to the world premiere of “Iron Man 3†last week in L.A. has gotten a lot of buzz, mostly negative. The Antonio Berardi dress is boat-necked with bell sleeves, but it was the skirt that got all the attention, with sheer panels revealing the sides of Paltrow’s body from the top of her hip to her ankle. Now the actress’ stylist Elizabeth Saltzman defends the choice to Us Weekly, calling the dress “elegant,†and saying it showed spirit -- as well as the fruits of Paltrow’s labors at the gym. Francois-Henri Pinault, chief executive of French luxury fashion group Kering, announced he is returning to China two bronze sculptures of animal heads he bought at auction. The pieces, a rat and a rabbit, were looted from Beijing’s Summer Palace in 1860. [Los Angeles Times]
