The 5th Annual Clean Up Commerce Day is approaching on Aug. 8, when volunteers are scheduled to tackle a variety of projects from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The event is sponsored by Steve Craig, president and chief executive of Craig Realty Group, which owns and operates the Citadel Outlets. The day was designed with the idea of getting millennials involved in bettering the community. Many local youth organizations participate, and Craig has pledged to donate $100 per volunteer to the youth or adult organization he or she represents. (In 2014, Craig reportedly donated more than $10,000.)

Individual youth volunteers and youth organizations that want to participate should contact Frank Garcia, the City of Commerce’s sports coordinator, at [email protected]. Businesses and adult volunteers who want to participate or contribute should contact Citadel Outlets marketing director Traci Markel at [email protected].
