Watch FX’s first look at Tom Hardy drama series ‘Taboo’
FX released the first trailer for upcoming eight-episode drama series “Taboo†on Thursday, even as production continues on the production in London.
Starring Academy Award nominee Tom Hardy (“The Revenant,†“Mad Max: Fury Roadâ€) the series, set in 1814, centers around James Keziah Delaney, a man long believed dead, who’s traveled the Earth before returning home to claim his father’s shipping empire. The series also stars Oona Chaplin (“Game of Thronesâ€), Michael Kelly (“House of Cardsâ€) and Jonathan Pryce (“Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearlâ€).
Hardy also serves as an executive producer on the project, alongside Ridley Scott (“The Martian,†“Aliensâ€) and Steven Knight (“Eastern Promisesâ€), with whom Hardy has worked on “Locke†and “Peaky Blinders.â€
The trailer is gritty and dark, with a visual style that calls to mind the exquisite cinematography of Steven Soderbergh’s Cinemax series “The Knick.†“Taboo†promises to be a landmark production for FX, with production values that audiences typically only find on premium cable.
