‘The Simpsons†Mr. Burns endorses Mitt Romney
The 2012 presidential campaign is almost over and slowly but surely the celebrities have announced their endorsements. Though some are worth more than others. Joss Whedon has endorsed Mitt Romney (in a way) and now “The Simpsons’†Mr. Burns, owner of Springfield’s nuclear power plant, titan of corporate capitalism and honcho in the Springfield Republican Party, has come out with his own backhanded endorsement of the Republican nominee. Backhanded in the sense that C. Montgomery Burns is positively Dickensian in his baseness.

To show Americans who the best choice for president would be, Mr. Burns puts Shamus the dog to the test between “Broccoli†Obama and “Meat†Romney. When confronted with the choice, the dog does what any reasonable animal would do.
This isn’t the first time “The Simpsons†has weighed in on current presidential politics. Back in 1996, the show featured a story line in which aliens Kodos and Kang impersonated candidates Bill Clinton and Bob Dole in a segment of the show’s annual “Treehouse of Horror†episode.
After a few weeks off, “The Simpsons†will continue its 24th season on Sunday, two days before election day.
