‘The Lying Game’ gets canceled
ABC Family is going to have half as much lying in its future. It has canceled “The Lying Game†after two seasons.
Series star Alexandra Chando made the announcement on her Instagram account, featuring a photo of her posing in front of a billboard promoting “The Lying Game.â€
“To our awesome #lyinggame fans, thank you for these two amazing seasons,†she wrote. “Unfortunately, Abc Family has decided not to bring us back for a third season. We so wanted to do 10 more for you guys! Thanks for your support and keep up with the cast to see what’s next for us! Xx.â€
The series premiered in 2011, a year after ABC Family debuted its hit series “Pretty Little Liars.â€
Both series were based on a series of novels by young-adult author Sara Shepard. “The Lying Game†starred Chando as a pair of identical twins who play identity swap while one goes out in search of their birth mother. When she doesn’t return, the other must continue to maintain the false identity.
The final episode aired on March 12, with an audience of 1.11 million.
