Jon Stewart hosts all nine members of Wu-Tang Clan, and a bonus
The large New York City rap collective Wu-Tang Clan has reunited to put out a new album, “A Better Tomorrow,†to celebrate the group’s 20th anniversary. And to promote the release, all nine living members of the group sat down on both sides of “Daily Show†host Jon Stewart for a short chat.
Though founding member Ol’ Dirty Bastard died in 2004, he was present on the face of a T-shirt. And one other wannabe member tagged along: “Daily Show†correspondent Jordan Klepper, who popped up on the far end of the interview desk for a brief moment before being shooed away by Stewart.
Still, the “Senior Caucasian Correspondent†was able to show off just a bit of his rap skills before being booted from the table.
Raekwon, RZA, Ghostface Killah, Method Man, GZA, Inspectah Deck, U-God, Cappadonna and Masta Killa spoke briefly with Stewart about the reunion and premiered a new song from their album, “Ron O’Neal.â€
“Simon and Garfunkel couldn’t hold two guys together,†Stewart said. “How did we come back 20 years later and get everybody back together again?â€
Wu-Tang Clan’s last album release was “8 Diagrams,†which was released in 2007.
“Wu-Tang, we have something in common with each other, a brotherhood. Respect,†RZA said.
RZA and Raekwon had publicly feuded over creative differences on the new album, but the two reconciled earlier this summer.
Video of the interview can be seen here. And Wu-Tang Clan’s performance of “Ron O’Neal†is here.
