Complete ‘Hill Street Blues’ coming to DVD in April

“Let’s be careful out there.”
That trademark line is one of the touchstones of “Hill Street Blues,” the classic 1981-1987 TV drama about the personal and professional challenges facing the police and detectives fighting crime in an urban metropolis. The series, which was created by acclaimed producer Steven Bochco and Michael Kozoll, is considered to be one of the seminal series of the 1980s.

All seven seasons and 144 episodes of the series are being released in a box set April 29, 2014, titled “Hill Street Blues: The Complete Series.” The 34-DVD collectors box will include the original pilot, a commemorative 24-page book and bonus content, including new interviews with Bochco, the cast and others.
“Hill Street Blues” starred Daniel J. Travanti, Veronica Hamel, Betty Thomas, Bruce Weitz and many others. Each episode charted a day in the life of “The Hill.”
