Great Performances: The arts series presents the back-to-back new offerings “From Vienna: The New Year’s Celebration 2013†(8 p.m. KOCE) followed by “Broadway Musicals: A Jewish Legacy†(9:30 p.m.).
Dance Moms: The reality competition returns with a behind-the-scenes special (8 p.m. Lifetime), followed by the season premiere (9 p.m.).
Totally T-Boz: This new reality series follows the further adventures of one of the founding members of the chart-topping hip-hop trio TLC (8 p.m. TLC).
Dual Survival: The reality series about braving the elements in some of the world’s most remote and dangerous locales is back for another season (9 p.m. Discovery).
The Sisterhood: Preachers’ wives testify to the unique demands placed upon them in this new docu-series (9 p.m. TLC).
Double Divas: Get a sneak peek at this new docu-series, premiering next week, set in an Atlanta lingerie boutique (9:30 p.m. Lifetime).

The 124th Tournament of Roses Parade: Bob Eubanks and Stephanie Edwards anchor local coverage of the annual New Year’s Day event in Pasadena (8 a.m. KTLA); other broadcast networks and cable channels also offer coverage (8 a.m. ABC, HGTV; 8:30 a.m. NBC).
MOVIES
Idiocracy: The dim-witted have inherited the Earth in this futuristic 2006 satire from “King of the Hill’s†Mike Judge; Luke Wilson, Maya Rudolph and Terry Crews star (10:15 p.m. IFC).
SPORTS
College football: Mississippi State meets Northwestern in the Gator Bowl (9 a.m. ESPN2); Georgia plays Nebraska in the Capital One Bowl (10 a.m. ABC); Michigan challenges South Carolina in the Outback Bowl (10 a.m. ESPN); it’s Stanford vs. Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl (2 p.m. ESPN); and Florida State faces Northern Illinois in the Orange Bowl (5:30 p.m. ESPN).
Basketball: The Clippers visit the Nuggets (6 p.m. FS Prime) and the Lakers host the 76ers (7:30 p.m. TWSN).
