Disclosure has a knack for turning its vocal collaborators into stars. But the act’s neo-house formula works on established megawatt hitmakers too.

The U.K. duo teamed up with R&B staple Usher (who is no stranger to hipster-approved beatmakers) for a remix of his single “Good Kisser.†Listen to it here.

The original tune was striking for its minimal, funky strut. But Disclosure filled in all the empty space with this edit.

Disclosure blows the song’s melody out with stabs of ‘90s synths, 808 drum blips and that vintage two-step beat that’s redefining contemporary dance music away from EDM’s jackhammers into something more human.

Usher’s done well in traditional R&B and in weirdo noise experiments, but this is one of very few out-and-out club tracks that have worked for him. Disclosure beefs up his harmonies into tightly-stacked Michael Jackson terrain, and the effect is less purely seductive than totally exultant.

It’s not Usher’s usual kind of come-on, but if he’s looking to make out on a dance floor, this track would be a great way to start.
