Psychic TV, Destruction Unit headline this year’s Berserktown Festival

L .A.’s most brutal mini-music festival has a new home — and a notably scabrous lineup.

Berserktown, the annual compendium of noise, experimental and uncategorizable heavy music created by L.A. promoter Graeme Flegenheimer, has moved to Westlake’s Teragram ballroom for its 2016 edition Aug. 12 to 14.

The three-day festival sports enough distortion and feedback to leave one comatose well before that time elapses.

The Berserktown III bill is topped by the English noise-music pioneers Psychic TV (performing their LP “Force the Hand of Chanceâ€), Arizona’s psych-punk weirdos Destruction Unit, and a bevy of sets from rarely touring veteran European acts such as Gorilla Angreb, the Kids and Brainbombs.

On the electronic front, Inga Copeland and rising newcomer Powell add a modern flourish, and locals Cold Showers lighten things a little bit with gauzy post-punk.

Tickets for the three-day fest run $35 a day or $75 for the weekend. As mind-fracturing weekends of apocalyptic noise-terror go, that’s almost a steal.
