New videos from Phoenix and Beach House -- watch (and wonder)

Do you like dreamy indie-rock bands? Fireworks? Extremely confusing (but visually stunning) music videos?

Today is your day, friend.

New clips from Phoenix and Beach House are making the online rounds, and though we haven’t really a clue what either one of them is about -- both revolve around what appear to be elaborate sporting-event spectacles -- each is a treat to behold.

First up: Phoenix’s video for “Entertainment,†the lovely lead single from the French band’s upcoming “Bankrupt!,†which is due out April 23. That’s just days after Phoenix wraps up its headlining slot at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, scheduled for April 12-14 and April 19-21 at Indio’s Empire Polo Club. A mysterious combination of high-gloss romance, military drama and samurai combat, the “Entertainment†clip was directed by Patrick Daughters, who also helmed the Grammy-nominated video for “1234†by Feist.

Then we’ve got “Wishes,†from Beach House’s 2012 album “Bloom,†in which the great character actor Ray Wise plays some kind of football coach-turned-religious leader presiding over a high-school half-time show. This one was directed by Eric Wareheim (of the comedy duo Tim and Eric), who said in a tweet Thursday that Beach House is his favorite band and that Wise is his favorite actor. The Baltimore group is on the Coachella bill along with Phoenix; no word yet whether Wise plans to appear as well.
