Kanye West, Kim Kardashian get cute in MTV Video Music Awards promo

OK, we can admit it, we’ve picked up a strange obsession with the whirlwind romance of Kanye West and Kim Kardashian.

Maybe it’s the matching outfits, the songs, the constant paparazzi shots of their jetsetting, or maybe it’s just the anticipation of an over-the-top wedding (televised in a two-part series on E!, of course), divorce and resulting breakup album full of epic beats and pining lyrics courtesy of Ye -- too soon?

The cute pair got even cuter -- and matchy-matchy, of course -- in a promo for the upcoming Video Music Awards.

In the spot, the awards show host, funnyman Kevin Hart, is looking to coordinate his outfit with the couple that he hopes can become a threesome.

“I’m talking about the new ‘it’ couple … KevYeKim, I just made that up. Its trademarked, don’t steal it,” Hart jokes to an aloof West and Kardashian, who is sporting her man’s highly sought-after Air Yeezy 2s.

West is up for three trophies for his critically heralded joint album with Jay-Z, “Watch the Throne.”

The MTV Video Music Awards air live from Staples Center on Sept. 6.
