‘Star Wars: Episode VII’ cast: Who are you most excited about? [poll]

Seven new faces are headed to a galaxy far, far away to shoot “Star Wars: Episode VII,†the J.J. Abrams reboot of the classic space-opera franchise: John Boyega, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson, Daisy Ridley, Andy Serkis and Max von Sydow.

We’re curious to hear which actor you’re most excited about joining the “Star Wars†universe alongside such veterans as Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher. But first, here’s a rundown of the newcomers.

Boyega, a 22-year-old British actor, is best known for his role in Joe Cornish’s 2011 sci-fi romp, “Attack the Block.†His name has been in the “Star Wars†rumor mill as a contender to play a young Jedi, although Disney and Lucasfilm have yet to release any official information about what characters any of the actors will portray.

Driver, a Juilliard graduate and former Marine, landed his breakout role on the HBO series “Girls,†playing Lena Dunham’s volatile but endearing boyfriend. Driver, 30, has been rumored to play a Darth Vader-esque villain.

Isaac, 35, is an actor and singer best known for his title role in the Coen brothers’ “Inside Llewyn Davis†(in which Driver also had a supporting role).

“Harry Potter†fans will recognize Gleeson, 30, who played Bill Weasley in “The Deathly Hallows†parts 1 and 2. He is the son of the Irish actor Brendan Gleeson.

Ridley is a relative unknown who has mostly appeared on British television. She is also the only woman among the new cast members.

Serkis, 50, is best known for his innovative uses of performance-capture technology to portray such memorable characters as Gollum in the “Lord of the Rings†trilogy and Caesar in “Rise of the Planet of the Apes.†It is unknown whether he will do the same in “Episode VII†or appear in the flesh.

Finally, Von Sydow, 85, has a long and distinguished resume that includes “The Seventh Seal,†“The Exorcist,†“Hannah and Her Sisters†and “Minority Report,†to name but a few.
