Usher’s stepson from a previous marriage has died after life support was removed following a boating injury on a Georgia lake. Kile Glover was 11.

Kile was taken off life support and died Saturday morning, a little more than two weeks after the July 6 accident on Lake Lanier, about 40 miles from Atlanta. His mother is Tameka Foster Raymond.

Raymond, whose divorce from Usher was finalized in November 2009 except for a bitter custody dispute that raged until very recently, tweeted a photo of Kile with a younger brother Friday night.

Kile was floating on an inner tube with a 15-year-old girl behind a pontoon boat that had been rented by the family and friends. Another member of their party allegedly ran them over while riding a personal watercraft, leaving Kile in critical condition and the girl with injuries that reportedly included a broken arm.

Unresponsive with a head injury when he was pulled from the water, the boy was later declared brain-dead at an Atlanta hospital. Usher, who had helped raise Kile since he was 4, was reportedly devastated. Kile’s father, Ryan Glover, is an Atlanta TV executive.

The accident reportedly changed the tenor of the former couple’s custody fight, according to a TMZ source, with Usher upping his child support payments and allowing his ex-wife “a majority†of custody over their two boys together, Usher Raymond V and Naviyd, rather than a 50-50 split.
