Codeine at the Echoplex

MUSIC
The beloved band Codeine was an early pioneer of the micro-genre known as “slow-core,” and it pretty much sounds like its name implies. The pace is languid, the mood narcotic, and it’s all punctuated with occasional blasts of noise. The band is briefly reuniting to celebrate a reissue of its catalog, including the landmark “Frigid Stars.” Echoplex, 1154 Glendale Blvd., L.A. $15. 8:30 p.m. Fri. attheecho.com.
